こちらは朝から雨です☔

昨日主人が腰を痛めて・・というのを書きましたが

私自身も何日か前に寝ていたら足がつって、すっごく痛くてマッサージしたらちょっとは痛みが治まったのでそのまま寝てしまい、朝起きたらまたつってしまいました😿

痛みが治まったら・・なんと！ふくらはぎが肉離れになってしまい痛みが続いています😿

直ぐにスポーツドリンクを飲んだのですが・・もうそういう問題じゃないですよね・・肉離れ・・ですものね・・😿

足がつる　→　To get a cramp (in my leg/foot) To have a cramp (in my leg/foot)

Cramp　→　痙攣・こむら返り

Crampのcollocationがto get

collocation（コロケーション）

collocation は動詞 collocate の名詞形で、原義は「併置する」といった意味合いです。

文や句における，二つ以上の単語の慣用的なつながり方。連語関係。言葉の中で慣用的に併用される定番の組み合わせ。コロケーション単位で言い回しを身につけられると、違和感のない自然な表現、こなれた表現、流暢な表現が出来る。

コロケーションの多くは絶対的な組み合わせではなく、イディオム（成句）ほど強くはありません。あえてハズした文章も文意が通じる場合も多々あります。

例えば・・

靴を履く

目くじらを立てる

服を着る

英語のコロケーションは日本語と異なる

例えば・・

日本語では『音を立てる』といいますが、英語では一般的に「make a sound」や「produce a sound」と表現します。日本語で「音を作る」とはいいませんよね～

英語のシナリオ　赤は句動詞です

日常会話でどのように句動詞が使われるか参考にして下さい

Appleman is the emcee on the TV program  ‘Why did the cat come to Japan?’

アップルマンが“ネコは何しに日本へ”のテレビ番組の司会者をしている。

Shitata “Chibijiro didn’t come back but the big chicken, Chibi, who wasn't called for by anybody, showed up so Asuka and her family got angry, right ?”

チビ次郎が戻って来ないで、誰からも必要とされていない弱虫のチビが現れたから明日香と彼女の家族は怒ったんでしょ

Himuro “Yeah! Our TV program investigated in and we found out why　Chibijiro threw away Asuka’s grandmother.”

そう！ それで私たちのテレビ番組が調査したところ、チビ次郎が明日香の祖母を捨てた理由がわかりました。

Shitata “Why ?”

どうして？

Himuro “ It was caused by a serious incident related to Japanese history.”

日本の歴史に関連する重大な事件が原因でした。」

Shitata “I wanna know.”

Himuro “We’re gonna set out some Japanese history beforehand.”

それでは事前に日本の歴史を紹介しますね

Manjiro's timetable shows up on TV.　

万次郎のタイムテーブルがテレビに映し出されます。

1827 :  John Manjiro was born in Tosa.　

1827年　ジョン万次郎は土佐に生まれる。

1841 : When Manjiro was 14 years old, he was met with a disaster at sea and was rescued by an American whaling ship.  After that, Manjiro lived in America for 10 years.

1841年　万次郎が14歳の時、海上で遭難し、アメリカの捕鯨船に救助される。 その後、万次郎はアメリカに10年間住む。

1849 : Manjiro went to San Francisco to mine gold. 　

1849年　万次郎は金を採掘するためサンフランシスコに行った。

1851 :   Manjiro came back to Japan.　

1851年　万次郎、日本に帰国     

1853  : Perry’s black ship arrived in Japan.　

1853年　ペリーの黒船が日本に来航

1854  : Japan signed the Convention of Kanagawa and opened the country.

１８５４年　日本は日米和親条約に署名し、開国。　

1860 :  Manjiro went to America with Katu Kaisyu and Fukuzawa Yukichi on the Kanrinmaru to sign the Treaty of Amity and Commerce.　

1860年　万次郎は咸臨丸で勝海舟、福澤諭吉らと共にアメリカに行き、日米修好通商条約に調印。

1868 : Meiji Restoration　

１８６８年　明治維新

Shitata “Asuka’s grandmother and Chibijiro met in 1852, didn’t they ?”

明日香のおばあちゃんとチビ次郎は1852年に出会ったんだよね。

Himuro “That's right ! They lived happily but Perry’s black ship arrived in Japan the following year.”

そう ！ 彼らは幸せに暮らしてたんだけど、翌年ペリーの黒船が日本に到着したんです。

Shitata “I think nobody could speak English except Manjiro at that time. ”

当時、万次郎以外は英語が話せなかったと思うよ。

Himuro “Yeah, so Tokugawa Shogunate called for Manjiro as an interpreter.

そう、だから徳川幕府は万次郎を通訳として呼んだんです。

Shitata “Oh, I see, so Manjiro was summoned by Tokugawa Shogunate and went to Edo.”

ああ、なるほど、万次郎は徳川幕府に召喚されて江戸に行ったんだ。

Himuro “That’s right. Manjiro got to Edo and found out that Perry called for a shift in our  national isolation policy.”

そうなんです。 万次郎は江戸に着き、ペリーが日本の鎖国政策の転換を求めていることを知ったんです。

Shitata “Prompt action was called for.”

迅速な対応が求められたんだ。

Himuro “Yeah, so Manjiro called for Chibijiro by smartphone.”

そう、だから万次郎はチビ次郎をスマホで呼んだんです。

Shitata “What are you talking about? There were no phones in the Edo era.”

何言ってんの？　江戸時代に電話なんてないでしょ。

Himuro “I know. It’s a joke.”　

知ってるよ、冗談だよ

Shitata “What did Asuka’s grandmother say when she heard Chibijiro went to Edo ?”

チビ次郎が江戸に行くと聞いた明日香の祖母は何って言ったの？

Himuro “She supported his decision and said that the occasion called for a celebration.”

彼女は彼の決定を支持し、このような機会にはお祝いが必要だと言ったんです。

Shitata “Oh, she was really a samurai cat’s wife.”　

おーっ、彼女こそ本当のサムライキャットの妻だね。

Prompt action was called for.
迅速な対応が求められたんだ。

今日のPhrasal verbs（句動詞）は

Call for

①～を求めて叫ぶ、電話で呼ぶ

②～を要求する、必要とする

③（天気）を予想する

Chibi was bitten by a dog and called for his mother.

チビは犬に噛まれたので、ママを求めて叫んだ。

Chibi called for a further increase in his allowance.

チビは、お小遣いのさらなる増加を求めた。

The weather forecaster called for heavy snow, but it was wrong.

天気予報士は大雪を予想しましたが、それは間違っていました。

英語の音に慣れる為には、繰り返し聞く事がベストです。

主人は腰が相当痛いらしく、かがむのも辛いので靴下を履かせたりと甲斐甲斐しく世話をしています・・

今日朝一で近所の整形外科へ行ってます。付き添おうか？と言ったのですが大丈夫と・・しつこく聞いたら帰りに母親の所に寄ると・・痛いなら早く帰ってくればいいのに・・男はいくつになってもマザコンですわ・・🙀🙀🙀🙀😞
